Do Your Peers Impact Your Health?

If yes, describe their impact.  Is it negative or positive?  If not, explain.

Once you have posted your response, read the responses posted by your peers and reply thoughtfully to at least two other students.  Compliment strong points, make connections, ask questions and build on ideas shared!

  4. Kirsten,

I think my peers do affect my health because of they are sick and I hang around with them a lot then I might catch their cold. This is the same deal with parents.

I think your peers impact your health negitively. I think this because, for example I heared my parents talking about how when kids go to the baby sitters or pre-school they play with other kids and get colds. But if the kids are kept home they don't get many or even no colds at all. Peers can also impact you by putting presure on you which, depending on the person can make them sick to the stomach. There fore, yes I think peers ampact your health.

I think my peers impact my health cause they can push me to my limits in sports and othere things like biking ect. They can also get you sick and you could be off school for a long time.

True but they also make you laugh and make sure that if you are in trouble or feeling down they make sure you feel happy and they keep you in a good mood

My peers always give me food that is not very good for you at lunch. Also whenever I go to my peers house they want to play video games or watch tv and not be active.

Yes. They do in fact impact my health. Example: At lunch if I forgot my lunch or snack they would be kind enough to share a couple of things with me so I won't be hungry anymore. My peers are very important to be!

I agree Yasmeen, but when you said that your peers give you food then did you mean that the food they give you might be bad for your health, or good for your health? Or were you just saying that we feed you when you have nothing to eat?

I said yes because I do think that my peer impact my health. Some examples are peers could encourage you to eat a certain food that's good or bad. Also they impact me in a good way because when I have a friend to condition <(work out or exercise)they will help you and tat is good to your health. ;D

They impact our health because they make you feel good about yourself and if you don't feel good about yourself you feel don't feel self confident so it makes it harder to concentrate on your school work.

I think you are impacted by your peers because they can be sick and if you hadn't gone to school or to the movies with them you probably wouldn't be at home now hacking up a lung. You would probably be out partying or sitting you boring math class ether way you wouldn't be at home sick. But if you hadn't gone out with your friend you probably would have missed the best movie or a great game of soccer in the gym. So your friends impact you in good and bad ways but it is always worth it.

that is true but if their a true friend and they knew they were sick they probably would have made a rain check and waited until they felt better, and just because you go out with your friends doesn't mean that you are going to get sick.

That is a very good point, I think it is always worth going out with your friends even if they are sick you could always take precautions to make sure you don't get sick.

I think yes because when you feel down your friends are the first one to help you out, make sure your okay, and make you laugh.
